VISION PROBLEMS – WANT TO READ AGAIN?
HCI has two new devices in the demo center for enlarging print. The desktop unit by Telesensory has a large screen and can magnify print or pictures from 2 to 50 times their original size. This magnifier is great for reading the newspaper, prescription bottles, food instructions, recipes, your mail and anything that comes in print. Our handheld unit, the Pico, is great to take along to restaurants, church, the bank, shopping and anywhere you need to read print. Come in for a test drive at no cost. If you are interested in magnification we can give you a list of companies that sell these devices or similar units. HCI provides demonstration only, no selling. To see these devices first hand, call Janet Parke at 410-572-6273.

IT ALWAYS WORKED BEFORE
The latest copy of Microsoft Office saves files in a new format (.docx) instead of the old familiar (.doc). In an office where there are mixed age copies of Microsoft Office this has caused some confusion as .docx can not be read on older copies of Office. There are a lot of people offering to sell converters that will convert from .docx to .doc, but this is unnecessary. There are two things you can do; (1) you can “save as” and make sure your file is saved as a classic .doc file, or (2) go to the Microsoft web site and download the Microsoft Office Compatibility pack. For other trouble shooting ideas, please contact James MacNamara at 443-260-0822.
