ADVENTURE GARDEN CLEAN UP DAY

Grab your trowel, gloves, rakes & join us to help make Holly Center, it’s grounds & it’s beautiful Adventure Garden spring to life We are looking for 100 + volunteers for a intensive three hours of fun while getting dirty cleaning up at Holly Center. Small groups of four or more are encouraged to participate. Refreshments will be provided. Bring your group of young people or young at heart to help on this special day.. PARTNERSHIPS WORK GREAT
Many thanks to VFW Post #194 for partnering to provide HCI with temporary accommodations until we can move to our new facility later this fall located at 909 Progress Circle, Salisbury (Weinberg Center).
NEW BOARD MEMBERS
HCI welcomed Susan Snavely, & Colonel Thomas Kimball to fill two vacancies on our Board of Directors. Susan Snavely brings 25 + years experience working with the disabled population & their families in her former role as Social Worker at Holly Center. Colonel Thomas Kimball brings the disabled veteran’s perspective as he is the National Chairman of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Military Service Program for Families, & is currently employed by the Wicomico County Detention Center. |
NEW INTERN
Jordan Weitzel, senior at Salisbury University, will be graduating this May with a B.A. in Communications. She is currently interning at HCI. She is working to enhance outreach activities for HCI’s upcoming Spring Festival. “I’m really enjoying everything I do here at HCI including talking with businesses throughout the community who are donating to the auction”. RETURNING AGAIN THIS SEMESTER IS
“NICKI”
Nicki Thompson, senior at Salisbury University also graduates in May with a B.A. in Social Work. Nicki has been assisting HCI with our ramp project, the Spring Festival, outreach at Holly Center & assisting in case management with some of our consumers. Nicki has been with HCI since September. Nicki plans to work with at-risk teenagers upon graduation.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS
Special Olympics has been scheduled for May 2nd for the main event at Wicomico Stadium & April 30th for the Aquatics event at Holly Center.
Sponsors are needed for the athletes. If you would like to sponsor an individual athlete (t-shirt, pin, meal, medal) for $17.00, we are accepting donations.
We are also holding auditions for announcers of the award winners at Special Olympics. Anyone with radio/TV aspirations should apply.
